Job summary

Behavioral Health Network (BHN) in Western Massachusetts seeks an Assistant Program Director for the Adult Community Clinical Services (ACCS) program. The role provides administrative leadership and clinical supervision for LPHA teams, chairs planning meetings, and helps develop staff orientation and training, while ensuring adequate staffing and program quality.

The successful candidate holds a Master’s degree in a related field with 1–2 years of supervisory experience; licensure

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling or Marriage and Family Therapy.
  • Licensure (LICSW/LMHC/LMFT) preferred; unlicensed staff may work toward independent license as required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative leadership (Administrator in Charge) for the ACCS program.
  • Supervise LPHA teams and lead clinical/administrative supervision for staff.
  • Chair program and staff meetings; oversee orientation and training programs.
  • Hire new staff with approval from ACCS Sr. Program Manager.
  • Address staff performance issues and conduct annual evaluations.
  • Monitor staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage and meet client needs.

Pay: $70,000 - $80,000 per year

What You’ll Do
  • Provide administrative leadership (Administrator in Charge), oversight and direction for the Integrated team through the Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA).
  • Provide day-to-day clinical and administrative supervision to LPHA’s, Lead DC III, Lead Peer, Substance Use Counselor where assigned.
  • Chair program planning meetings and staff meetings.
  • With Sr. Program Manager and LPHAs, develop and implement orientation and training programs for staff.
  • Hire new employees with the approval of the ACCS Sr. Program Manager.
  • Respond to difficulties or complaints related to staff member's job performance.
  • Provide clinical supervision of licensed staff and other staff as required, assists with selecting intervention strategies for individuals at risk and/or difficult to engage.
  • Provide clinical and administrative supervision to assigned staff and documents appropriately.
  • Respond to on-call needs of program as needed.
  • Provides regular and direct supervision, support, and guidance to program staff.
  • Address disciplinary issues as needed and completes annual performance evaluations.
  • Monitor and create staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage to meet individuals served needs.
Who You Are
  • Master’s Degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling or Marriage and Family Therapy required.
  • Broad knowledge of mental illness and treatment techniques, particularly severely and persistently mentally ill adults, severely emotionally disturbed children, substance use disorders, and the impact of social determinants of overall health.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of supervisory experience required.
  • Clinical Licensure (Licensed Psychologist, LICSW, LMHC, LMFT) preferred. If unlicensed, the Assistant Program Director will work towards attainment of their independent license as required by the program.
