TAG MedStaffing is seeking an Assistant Program Director (Temporary to Permanent) for our client, overseeing daily operations of community-based residential programs serving vulnerable populations. This leadership role manages case management operations, supervises staff, and ensures regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has leadership experience in homeless services or supportive housing, with strong operational, crisis management, and team development skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting vulnerable populations within homeless services, supportive housing, behavioral health, human services, or related field.
  • Experience within shelter operations, supportive housing, case management, or community-based programs preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic case management or program reporting systems.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily case management and housing services while supporting operational goals, service delivery, and program performance.
  • Supervise case management supervisors and program staff, providing coaching, performance management, and ongoing professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with agency policies, contractual requirements, regulatory standards, and documentation requirements while supporting audits and continuous quality improvement.
  • Promote trauma-informed, client-centered services while supporting crisis response, housing placement efforts, and complex client situations.
  • Monitor program metrics, oversee documentation, review program data, and implement corrective actions to improve operational outcomes.
  • Partner with program leadership, community organizations, and internal stakeholders to support program initiatives and serve as acting program lead when needed.

Compensation: $42–$52/hour + benefits
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

TAG MedStaffing is hiring an Assistant Program Director (Temporary to Permanent) for our client, supporting the daily operations of community-based residential programs serving vulnerable populations. This leadership role will oversee case management operations, supervise staff, support housing and service delivery initiatives, ensure regulatory compliance, and partner with program leadership to maintain high-quality client services. The ideal candidate will have leadership experience within homeless services, supportive housing, or human services, along with strong operational, crisis management, and team development skills.

Responsibilities as the Assistant Program Director:
  • Program Operations: Oversee daily case management and housing services while supporting operational goals, service delivery, and program performance.
  • Staff Leadership: Supervise case management supervisors and program staff, providing coaching, performance management, and ongoing professional development.
  • Compliance & Quality: Ensure compliance with agency policies, contractual requirements, regulatory standards, and documentation requirements while supporting audits and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Client Services: Promote trauma-informed, client-centered services while supporting crisis response, housing placement efforts, and complex client situations.

Qualifications for the Assistant Program Director:

  • Experience: 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience and 3+ years of experience supporting vulnerable populations within homeless services, supportive housing, behavioral health, human services, or a related field are required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience within shelter operations, supportive housing, case management, or community-based programs is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic case management or program reporting systems is required.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership, communication, organizational, crisis management, problem-solving, and team development skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, supervise staff, and support a fast-paced, client-focused environment are required. Bilingual Spanish is preferred.
