Job summary

Community Services Group is hiring an Assistant Program Director to assist with management of adult mental health residential programs. The APD reports to the Program Director and will support operations Monday through Friday with occasional weekends and flexibility as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of work with mental illness/IDD plus 1 year supervision.
  • Or associate’s degree with 3 years of relevant work experience and 1 year supervision.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable vehicle.
  • Able to work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors program compliance with policies, procedures and standards.
  • Supervises and trains program staff and oversees performance.
  • Makes employee employment decisions during staff life cycle.
  • Assists in recruiting, interviewing and hiring.
  • Develops training materials and delivers education to staff.
  • Ensures development and implementation of individual program plans.
  • Reviews financial documents and conducts on-site audits of funds.
  • Leads staff multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Directs daily operations including incident management.
  • Supports acting Program Director in their absence.
  • Develops data collection methods and analyzes outcomes.
  • Provides coverage in emergencies.
  • Models trauma-informed care principles and fosters DEI.

Summary

The Assistant Program Director (APD) assists with the general program management and location operation of the mental health programs at the direction of the program director. The APD reports directly to the Program Director. This position will support an Adult Mental Health residential program with a M - F day schedule with occasional weekends and other flexibility to meet program needs.

Wage Information

$50,500 annually possibly higher with education and experience.

Job Description
  • Monitors program and employee compliance to all company policies and procedures and all regulatory standards.
  • Supervises, trains, and oversees the performance management of program employees.
  • Responsible for employment decisions during the life cycle of their team members.
  • Assists in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of employees.
  • Develops educational and training materials, presents educational materials on various aspects of programs, and provides technical assistance to employees.
  • Ensures the development and implementation of individual program plans and activities.
  • Reviews financial documentation/billing and performs on-site audits of individuals’ funds and petty cash funds.
  • Serves as team leader for staff interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Directs and ensures effectiveness of program’s daily operations including incident management.
  • Fulfills duties and responsibilities of the Program Director in a temporary acting capacity in the absence of Program Director.
  • Assists in the development of data collection methods to report and monitor program activities, and analyzes data to determine if the activities provided are meeting program goals.
  • Provides coverage in emergency situations.
  • Willing to learn and model the five principles of trauma-informed care; safety, choice, collaboration, trustworthiness, and empowerment.
  • Commitment to promote cultural, racial, language, and gender access, diversity, equity and inclusion.
Qualifications
  • This position requires one of the following combinations of education and experience: For Residential Programs: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, 2 years of work experience working directly with individuals who have mental illness and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities and at least 1 year supervision/management experience;
  • Or associate’s degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university, 3 years of work experience working directly with individuals who have mental illness and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities and at least 1 year supervision/management experience.
  • A valid driver’s license, good driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle to attend trainings, meetings, and/or transport individuals to appointments.
  • Able to work flexible hours.
