An established industry player is seeking an Assistant Program Director to oversee operations for programs supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role involves direct supervision of staff, compliance with regulations, and collaboration with various stakeholders to promote community integration. Under the direction of the Program Director, oversees program functions and operations for multiple programs supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) within an assigned region. This includes direct supervision of Program Supervisors and indirect supervision of direct support and other program staff (e.g., Assistant Supervisors, DSPs). The Assistant Program Director is responsible for all aspects of the assigned programs and interfaces with Program Supervisors, regulatory agencies (e.g., OPWDD, DDD), Quality, Compliance, Training, and other support departments to promote community integration and ensure the health, safety, and needs of the people we support.
Ensure that training provided and work performed by staff meets federal, state, local, and agency standards. The role involves staff development, providing feedback for performance evaluations, and serving as an administrative resource for Program Supervisors. Develops and maintains relationships with families, service providers, regulatory agencies, and community members.
For New Jersey: Must meet federal requirements for a QIDP, including at least one year of experience working directly with persons with disabilities, and hold specific qualifications such as a registered nurse, doctor, or a bachelor’s in a human services field. Must obtain RBT certification within one year and have a valid driver’s license.
