Description of Work
The Assistant Program Coordinator supports the Tax Credit Alliance of Nebraska ( TCAN ) Volunteer Income Tax Assistance ( VITA ) Program through tax site operations, volunteer support, tax preparation, client services, inventory management, and community outreach. This position serves as a key member of the VITA program team and works closely with the Program Coordinator to ensure high-quality tax preparation services are available to eligible individuals and families throughout Nebraska.
The Assistant Program Coordinator will learn all aspects of the VITA program, including tax law, site operations, volunteer support, client services, and community engagement. This position is expected to obtain and maintain all required IRS certifications and progressively develop the skills necessary to independently support and manage VITA sites.
