Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or years of relevant experience substitutable on a year-for-year basis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to pass an IRS suitability check and maintain tax compliance.
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and meet University driver eligibility requirements.
• Must be able to travel throughout Nebraska using a personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends during tax season.
• Ability to obtain and maintain all required IRS VITA certifications.

Responsibilities

• Support the VITA program through tax site operations, volunteer support, tax preparation, client services, inventory management, and outreach.
• Learn all aspects of the VITA program including tax law, site operations, and community engagement.
• Coordinate travel and schedule for volunteers and ensure high-quality service across Nebraska.
• Collaborate with the Program Coordinator to maintain IRS certifications and program standards.
