Position Description
The Department of Counseling, Leadership, Adult Education, and School Psychology (CLAS) in the College of Education at Texas State University, a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) located in San Marcos, Texas, invites applications for a non‑tenure‑line assistant professor of instruction position beginning August 2026. This position involves teaching, research, service, and program support in a vibrant Bachelor of General Studies program in Central Texas. Specific responsibilities include teaching courses in integrated studies and service to the program, department, university, and profession.
Integrated Studies undergraduate degree. This position will include teaching the interdisciplinary capstone courses in our program. The successful candidate will be headquartered on the San Marcos campus and may teach courses on both the main university campus in San Marcos and at the university’s Round Rock campus.
The CLAS Department serves approximately 975 students seeking undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degrees in Professional Counseling (COUN), Educational and Community Leadership (EDCL), Adult, Professional, and Community Education (APCE), School Psychology (SPSY), Student Affairs in Higher Education (SAHE), and Integrated Studies (INTS). The CLAS Department provides high‑quality undergraduate and graduate education to promote significant transformational changes in communities, schools, organizations, and institutions locally and globally.
