Job summary

Utah Tech University in St. George, Utah seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Communication with an emphasis in Leadership and Organizational Communication to begin Fall 2027.

The position carries a 4/4 teaching load and requires teaching courses in student leadership, organizational and professional communication. Applicants should research leadership across qualitative, quantitative, and critical approaches, with interests in compassionate leadership, student mentorship, curriculum

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Communication or related field; ABD considered if degree by July 1, 2027.
• Experience designing or teaching courses in organizational, professional, and leadership communication.
• Proven ability to use diverse teaching methods and engage students.

Responsibilities

• Teach 24 credits per academic year in Communication (Leadership, Organizational Communication, System Dynamics, Professional Relationships, Persuasion, Ethics).
• Provide institutional service per policy.
• Develop and propose new curriculum with department chair and dean.
• Collaborate with faculty on program management and department promotion.
• Adhere to policies and contribute to campus-wide responsibilities.
• Develop a scholarship agenda in the area of expertise.
