Job summary

The University of Nevada, Reno invites applications for a tenure-track, full-time Assistant Professor in Secondary Education beginning July 1, 2027, with summer teaching opportunities. We seek a scholar with a research agenda in learning sciences, teacher preparation, and STEM education (math and CS) whose work connects learning theory to practice and to learning environments.

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, advising Master’s licensure students, and

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate by July 1, 2027 in Learning Sciences, Educational Psychology, Mathematics Education, STEM Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Teacher Education, or related field.
• At least three years of K-12 teaching experience or equivalent.
• Ability to teach undergraduate- and graduate-level courses in teacher preparation.
• Demonstrated excellence or potential for excellence in research and grant acquisition.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in Secondary Education and related teacher preparation.
• Advise Master’s students in Secondary First-Time Licensure programs.
• Mentor doctoral students in STEM Education and Curriculum and Instruction.
• Connect research, pedagogy, and teacher development at undergraduate and graduate levels.
