The University of Nebraska-Lincoln invites applications for a tenure-line Assistant or Associate Professor of Secondary Mathematics Education. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise practicum students, and develop an active research program in mathematics education.

The department collaborates across mathematics and STEM, supports professional learning, and seeks a colleague committed to equity, diverse learners, and service to schools and communities.

Competenze

• Doctorate in mathematics education, curriculum & instruction, teacher education, or a related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in teaching mathematics education in higher education and supervising teacher candidates in practicum and student teaching settings.
• A minimum of two years of teaching experience in secondary mathematics education.
• A research agenda anchored in secondary mathematics education and/or mathematics teacher education, commensurate with a research-intensive institution.
• Evidence of professional and institutional service.
• Demonstrated commitment to access and equity in teaching and scholarship.

Mansioni

• Teach undergraduate coursework in Secondary Mathematics Education, including mathematics methods courses.
• Work with and supervise professional practicum students and student teachers.
• Teach graduate courses in K-12 Mathematics Education and related areas of expertise.
• Advise and mentor master’s and doctoral students.
• Conduct a scholarly program of research appropriate to rank.
• Engage actively in collaboration and program development within and across content areas, programs, departments and colleges.
• Provide outreach to schools, other educational institutions, and communities.
