University of Nevada, Reno invites applications for a tenure-track, full-time Assistant Professor in Secondary Education beginning July 1, 2027. Summer teaching opportunities are available.

The candidate will teach in Secondary Education and related courses, advise Master’s and doctoral students, and develop a research program aligned with Learning Sciences and STEM education. Required: Doctorate by July 1, 2027 in relevant field; 3+ years K-12 teaching; ability to teach undergrad/grad courses.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate by July 1, 2027 in Learning Sciences, Educational Psychology, Mathematics Education, STEM Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Teacher Education, or related field.
• At least three years of K-12 teaching experience or equivalent.
• Ability to teach undergraduate- and graduate-level courses in teacher preparation.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in Secondary Education and other areas related to teacher preparation, such as learning theory, math education, integrated STEM.
• Advise Master’s students in the Secondary First-Time Licensure programs; mentor doctoral students in STEM Education and Curriculum and Instruction.
• Contribute to research, publications, and grants; engage with university, community, and profession.
