Position Overview

Assistant Professor of Information Technology (Cybersecurity Specialization) – full‑time, tenure‑track position at UNT Dallas. The inaugural cybersecurity professor will conduct undergraduate instruction in a variety of Cybersecurity and IT courses, including Foundations of Cybersecurity, Network Administration, Cloud Security, Computer Forensics, Computer Networks, and Programming, and engage in high‑quality research and scholarship.

Responsibilities

• Teach four (4) courses per semester in undergraduate Information Technology and Cybersecurity disciplines.
• Participate in program development, course development, program assessment, accreditation, and committee leadership.
• Engage in high‑quality research and scholarship within the field of Cybersecurity.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree (ABD considered) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses in Information Technology or Computer Science.
• Effective writing and verbal communication skills.
• Experience using technology in teaching across multiple modalities (hybrid, online, and face‑to‑face).
• Evidence of significant academic research and/or applied experience in Information Technology or Computer Science.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with culturally diverse students, staff, and faculty on a campus.
• Experience developing both face‑to‑face and online courses.
• Experience in curriculum development and program assessment.

Physical Requirements

• Communicating with others to exchange information.
• Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting or standing.

Environmental Hazards

• No adverse environmental conditions expected.

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8:00‑17:00 on campus with flexible work arrangement available and the possibility of occasional remote work.
