Job description

Overview

Assistant Professor, Health Services Administration (HADM)

The Health Services Administration (HADM) program at Auburn University invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track assistant professor position with a projected start date of August 16, 2027.

The program seeks candidates with teaching and scholarly interests that complement those of the current faculty. Successful candidates will demonstrate a broad knowledge of health services administration and the ability to teach across the undergraduate health services administration curriculum (e.g., U.S. healthcare delivery system, health information technology, management, post-acute care, policy, etc.) as needed. Areas of desired expertise/course coverage include healthcare financial management, health insurance/reimbursement, healthcare data analytics, or health information systems. Relevant field experience is desired, but not required.

Extramural funding for research is not a contractual requirement. This position offers significant faculty development opportunities through internal and external grant funding opportunities and Auburn's Biggio Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning.

The HADM program serves approximately 150 undergraduate students. The program's more than 90% placement rate of graduates in administrative positions or graduate programs reflects the dedication of faculty and the quality of students. The B.S. program in Health Services Administration has been accredited by the Association of University Programs in Health Administration since 1995. The program is devoted to academic excellence in research, teaching, and service, cultivating student and faculty engagement by bridging theory with practice and extending scholarship and learning beyond the classroom. The program is housed in the Department of Political Science within the College of Liberal Arts.

Review of applications will begin September 28, 2026, and will continue until a suitable candidate has been selected.
