Job summary

Florida Gulf Coast University seeks an exceptional Assistant Professor of Genetics to advance our strengths in genetics, genomics, molecular biology, and related areas. The candidate will be a student-centered educator who integrates undergraduates and master’s students into a sustainable research program.

The successful candidate will engage in teaching core and upper-level biology courses, develop and refine curricula, supervise and mentor students, and participate in department and college

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Genetics, Genomics, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent.
ABD will be considered if degree is conferred by August 7, 2027. If successful candidate is ABD, appointment will be made at a Lecturer level on a fixed contract.

Responsibilities

Teach core and upper-level biology courses and graduate courses.
Develop syllabi, instructional materials, and assessments.
Establish and maintain an active undergraduate and graduate research program.
Mentor students and collaborate on curriculum development and program advancement.
Participate in service, committees, and professional development.
