Florida Gulf Coast University invites applications for an exceptional Assistant Professor of Biology. The successful candidate will be a student-centered educator and an active scholar who integrates undergraduates and master's students into a sustainable research program.

The department supports 900 undergraduates and 15–25 master's students and seeks a colleague who embraces innovative teaching, active learning, CUREs, and community engagement. Appointment begins August 2027.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, Cell Biology, or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent.
• ABD will be considered if degree is conferred by August 7, 2027. If successful candidate is ABD, appointment will be made at a Lecturer level on a fixed contract.

Responsabilités

• Teach 9 credit hours per semester of core and upper-level, and/or graduate courses in biology and related subjects.
• Plans, prepares, and teaches assigned courses, including developing syllabi, instructional materials, and assessments.
• Establishes and maintains an active research program with opportunities for undergraduate involvement.
• Mentors undergraduate and master's students and participates in student advising.
• Engages in service to department, college, and university committees and professional communities.
