Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Biology or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
• ABD will be considered if the degree is conferred by August 7, 2027; if ABD, Lecturer level on fixed contract.
• Research and/or teaching expertise in microbiology, immunology, infectious diseases, or host-pathogen interactions.
• Record of peer-reviewed publications commensurate with career stage.
• Experience implementing high-impact teaching practices (e.g., CUREs, POGIL).
• Experience mentoring undergraduate and graduate research and collaborating across biology fields.

Responsibilities

• Teach 9 credit hours per semester in core and upper-level biology and related subjects.
• Plan, prepare, and teach assigned courses with syllabi, materials, and assessments.
• Deliver interactive lectures aligned with curriculum goals and accreditation standards.
• Maintain high-quality instruction and engage in reflective self-assessment for improvement.
• Provide academic advising and hold regular office hours for students.
• Utilize the learning management system and instructional technologies effectively.
• Collaborate with faculty on curriculum development and program advancement.
