Job summary

Saint Mary’s College’s Department of Gender & Women’s Studies invites applications for an Assistant Professor beginning Fall 2027. We seek scholars with expertise in transnational or global perspectives and a commitment to inclusive pedagogy and undergraduate mentoring.

The successful candidate will teach a 3:3 load, contribute to interdisciplinary programs such as Global Studies and Writing Proficiency, and maintain an active program of research leading to peer‑reviewed publications.

Qualifications

• 3:3 teaching load including Introduction to Gender & Women's Studies, Transnational Feminisms, and upper-level electives in the candidate's area of expertise.
• Candidates must demonstrate the ability to teach Feminist Theory and Feminist Methods as part of the department's regular course rotation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an active program of scholarship leading to peer-reviewed publication, with transnational or global perspectives particularly welcome.
• Teach a 3:3 load as described, including introductory courses and upper-level electives.
• Contribute to departmental and College service, interdisciplinary programs.

The Saint Mary's College Department of Gender & Women’s Studies invites applications for an Assistant Professor beginning Fall 2027. We are particularly interested in applicants who demonstrate expertise in transnational or global perspectives. Candidates withpotential to contribute to interdisciplinary programs such as Global Studies; Environmental Studies; the Latine Studies Interdisciplinary Pathway; First Year Seminars; and/or the Writing Proficiency programs are preferred.The department emphasizes excellence in writing and student engagement in research, advocacy, and internships, as well as inclusive pedagogy.
