Job description

The Accounting & Law Division at Babson College is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor in Accounting starting in the 2027-28 academic year. The Accounting & Law Division is a team of innovative, collegial, and affable colleagues who are profoundly dedicated to their craft as educators, scholars, and practitioners. Our faculty include award-winning teachers, thought leaders and community leaders. They have educated and advised a wide variety of learners, from students to budding entrepreneurs to management and executives at fortune 500 companies. Their research has been published in top-tier journals and have contributed knowledge to their discipline, to practice and to pedagogy. What You Will Do
  • Teach Accounting (and related topics) to undergraduates, graduate students, and executives.
  • Generate new pedagogy and update curriculum that is generationally and technologically relevant for our students by integrating a future-forward perspective and strategic foresight.
  • Develop a portfolio of scholarly materials to contribute to academic communities and/or practice.
  • Work as a team player and be willing to collaborate with faculty across disciplines, both in integrated team teaching and in college service.
  • Commit to working in ways that will support and enhance the College's commitment to teaching in an aligned, engaged, and inclusive manner.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required.
What Education and Skills You Will Need
  • Ph.D. or an equivalent research-focused degree before the start date for the position.
  • At least 12 months of uninterrupted, practical work experience, or equivalent, to quickly establish credibility in the classroom, especially with graduate students and executives.
  • A proven track record in both teaching excellence (as an instructor of record as opposed to as a teaching assistant) and innovative curriculum development.
  • Passion for teaching Accounting (and related topics) to undergraduates, graduate students, and executives.
  • An evident program of research that is relevant to both academics and practitioners, and a demonstrated ability to publish peer-reviewed academic journal articles (articles for practitioner audience, peer-reviewed books, teaching cases, and other teaching materials are also valued).
  • Willingness to embrace Babson's unique approach to higher education.
  • Willingness to lead and collaborate as a team player with faculty from multiple disciplines to design and teach integrated business curricula.
  • Desire to invest in Babson's success through active engagement in the campus community and as a helpful colleague.
  • Comfort with technology and teaching in a blended/online environment, though most teaching occurs in-person and on-campus.
How and Where You Will Work

Ability to teach courses in-person, on-campus.

The typical course load for a pre-tenure Assistant/Associate Professor position is four courses per year.

This is an exempt position with the following pay range: $232,996-$245,259
