The College of Nursing at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Assistant Professor (12 Month). Reporting to the Executive Vice Dean, the Assistant Professor supports the College of Nursing's mission and strategic plan, program outcomes, and course objective through teaching service and scholarship.

The role includes teaching, clinical supervision of students when needed, advising, evaluating performance, and mentoring in evidence-based research within a vibrant urban

Qualifications

• Terminal degree in nursing required (PhD/EdD/DNSc preferred).
• Experience in higher education teaching and curriculum development.
• Evidence of scholarly activity or research within nursing.

Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility teaching assignments.
• Uses innovative, active learning strategies.
• Participates in clinical supervision of students, when needed.
• Serve as Academic Advisor for students.
• Evaluates student’s performance.
• Grades assignments in a timely manner.
• Is available for remediation of students as needed.
• Participates in Research Activities.
• Mentor students in evidence-based research and scholarship.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned and/or as needed.
