The College of Nursing at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Assistant Professor (12 Month).

Reporting to the Executive Vice Dean, the Assistant Professor supports the College of Nursing's mission through teaching, service and scholarship. This position emphasizes teaching assignments, clinical supervision, advising, and active involvement in research and student mentorship.

Formación

• Doctoral degree required.
• New York State RN and/or NP licensure required.
• Evidence of current scholarship.
• Outstanding interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Teach assigned courses and supervise clinical activities.
• Use innovative active learning strategies.
• Participate in clinical supervision of students.
• Serve as academic advisor to students.
• Evaluate student performance and grade assignments promptly.
• Be available for remediation of students as needed.
• Participate in research activities and mentor students in evidence-based scholarship.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Executive Vice Dean, the Assistant Professor supports the College of Nursing's mission and strategic plan, program outcomes, and course objective through teaching service and scholarship.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Assumes responsibility teaching assignments.
• Uses innovative, active learning strategies.
• Participates in clinical supervision of students, when needed.
• Serve as Academic Advisor for students.
• Evaluates student’s performance.
• Grades assignments in a timely manner.
• Is available for remediation of students as needed.
• Participates in Research Activities.
• Mentor students in evidence-based research and scholarship.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned and/or as needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Doctoral Degree.
• New York State Registered Nurse and/or Nurse Practitioner Licensure.
• Outstanding interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Evidence of current scholarship.
