The Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas is recruiting an anesthesiologist over the next 6-12 months. This is a full time academic anesthesiology open rank position, clinical faculty appointment (CFA), and will initially carry a 90% clinical effort. Fellowship specialty training in neuroanesthesia, experience in clinical research, and leading fellowship programs is strongly preferred.
Assistant Professors are expected to have at minimum 2 years as Instructor or at minimum 4 years post degree with any combination of time as a clinician, clinical scientist or GME trainee.
Associate Professors are expected to have at minimum 5 years' experience as Assistant Professor or equivalent or at minimum 10 years post clinical degree.
Professors are expected to have at minimum 5 years' experience as Associate Professor or equivalent or at minimum 15 years post clinical degree.
New faculty members will be expected to be board certified in Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology (or approved foreign equivalent) and be actively participating in the Maintenance of Certification Program, or in the examination system with the ABA. All will need to possess an unrestricted Texas medical license in good standing before onboarding.
