A leading health professions school is seeking a qualified ophthalmologist to provide comprehensive patient care and engage in teaching and research activities. The role includes administrative responsibilities and participation in departmental committees. Candidates must have completed an accredited residency and hold a Texas Medical License.
The person in this position is responsible for providing direct patient care, consultative services, outpatient services, and care of hospitalized patients. They will participate in all teaching activities of the Department, including conferences, lectures, bedside teaching, rounds, clinics, inpatient services, continuing medical education, and meetings at local, regional, and national levels. Students may include medical students, house staff, nursing students, and allied health students. The role also involves advancing clinical knowledge through scholarly and research efforts, participating in basic or clinical research, and publishing scientific articles. Additionally, the individual will have administrative responsibilities, including supervising and evaluating residents, providing medical direction, and participating in departmental and health system committees.
12-month intern training followed by 36-month residency training in Ophthalmology.
Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited medical school, have completed an ACGME-approved residency in ophthalmology, with interest and training in retina. Must be certified or eligible for certification in Ophthalmology and hold a Texas Medical License without restrictions. Degree options include MD, DO, or foreign equivalents.
