Simpson Strong-Tie Company Inc. in Stockton, CA is seeking an Assistant Production Supervisor to support the Production Supervisor in guiding the department’s team and ensuring efficient, safe operations on the shop floor. You will lead, motivate, and train staff, drive continuous improvement, monitor workflow, and collaborate with other branches to apply Simpson practices.
Domestic travel is up to 5%. The role is full-time, exempt, and located in Stockton; relocation is not available.

YOU As an Assistant Production Supervisor, you will assist the Production Supervisor in managing the employees within the department. You will also assist the Production Supervisor in ensuring work is being completed efficiently and effectively throughout the department.
Lead, motivate and direct employees using effective performance management techniques, including establishing expectations and goals, providing recognition and feedback, and addressing performance problems. Troubleshoots and problem solves through root cause analysis. Helps in developing a continuous improvement culture. Creates growth plans for reports and engages all production employees. Leads by example. Coach, encourage, and develop employees according to their unique interests and strengths. Empower employees to take responsibility for their career and performance. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback. Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members and the organization. Have a presence on the shop floor to assist and guide leads and employees with daily tasks. (50%)
Monitor workflow processes while looking for improvement opportunities. Analyze data, such as productivity reports, errors, and schedules, daily and make recommendations for improvement accordingly. Partner with other branches and places of knowledge to learn Simpson practices and gain new ideas to put into practice. Create reports, spreadsheets and presentations. Design and drive programs which will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the department. (50%)
This position requires domestic travel up to 5% of the time.
This full-time, exempt position is located in Stockton, CA.
Relocation is not available for this position.
$64,000 - $102,400 / year

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/scanners, etc. The job may risk exposure to heat and/or cold, wet or humid conditions, fumes and/or noxious odors, toxic/caustic chemicals, dust, loud noise levels and moving mechanical parts.
