Job summary

Simpson Strong-Tie is seeking an Associate Shipper/Receiver in McKinney, TX to support shipping, receiving, and stocking finished goods. Weekend shift 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM with a $2.50/hour differential. Responsibilities include processing shipments, stocking inventory, and ensuring quality standards are met.

The role requires basic HS diploma or GED, forklift certification and DOT HazMat training at hire. 0–3 months of related experience and ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment are

Qualifications

  • DOT HazMat training and powered industrial truck certification required at hire.
  • 0–3 months of warehouse, logistics, or shipping experience preferred.
  • Operate forklift, reach truck, order picker, and electric pallet jack.
  • Safety-focused; maintain safe work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Complete shipments using ERP system and/or tablet (70%).
  • Pull, package, and palletize products for shipment (10%).
  • Ensure incoming and outgoing shipments meet packaging, customer, and quality standards (10%).
  • Receive, stock, and rotate product (10%).
  • Identify, tag, store and locate finished inventory (10%).

YOU

As an Associate Shipper/Receiver, you will be responsible for shipping, receiving, and stocking finished goods needed to fulfill customer orders. Weekend Shift Hours are Sat - Mon 6:00AM – 6:30PM. You will receive a $2.50 shift differential for every hour worked.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)
  • Complete shipments using ERP system and/or tablet (70%)
  • Pull, package, and palletize products for shipment (10%)
  • Ensure incoming and outgoing shipments meet packaging, customer, and quality standards (10%)
  • Receive, stock, and rotate product (10%)
  • Identify, tag, store and locate finished inventory (10%)
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Simpson Strong-Tie Powered Industrial Truck Certification required (will certify at hire).
  • D.O.T. HazMat Training required (will certify at hire).
  • 0-3 months of warehouse, logistics, and/or shipping experience required.
  • Equipment: Operate forklift, reach truck, order picker, and electric pallet jack.
  • Safety: Ability to prioritize safety by demonstrating safe work practices and promoting a safe work environment.
  • Mathematical Reasoning: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiple and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
  • Ability to Work Independently: Follow both written and oral instructions, including safety guidelines, work instructions, and company policies.
  • Attendance: Able to consistently demonstrate reliable, punctual attendance in accordance with our attendance policy.
  • Communication Skills: Speak in the most effective way to relay information to all departments and at all levels within the organization. Listen and ask questions to ensure understanding.
  • Quality Standards Knowledge: Demonstrate an understanding of company quality standards and company quality control processes.
  • Problem Solving: Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This full-time, non-exempt position is located in McKinney, TX.

PAY

$19.00 / hour

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, see, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. This role operates large equipment and needs to constantly position self to maintain the operation of equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Regularly works around moving mechanical parts. The noise level is loud. The job may risk exposure to dust, heat and/or cold, wet or humid conditions.
