Job summary

KTLA in Pasadena is seeking a Production Coordinator for a temporary, live-event season. You will lead pre-, during, and post-production coordination, assemble script books, staff information, and manage rundowns and schedules. You will handle travel, call times, and liaison duties with talent and staff.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a related field, strong admin skills on PC tools, and proven live TV experience with superb organizational abilities and deadline discipline.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in film, communications, marketing, management, or related field required.
  • Experience in live television, scripted or related field expected.
  • Proficient in administrative tasks and on a PC (Excel, Outlook, Word, OneDrive).
  • Knowledge of live show rundowns and scripts formatting is essential.
  • Ability to multitask with strong attention to detail and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Be the main hub for pre-production, coordination, and post-production tasks.
  • Assemble script books and coordinate information to staff, crew, and talent.
  • Manage files in OneDrive for executives, writers, and producers.
  • Book travel, meetings, and coordinate call times and talking points.
  • Liaise between KTLA and float builders during location shoots.
  • Perform clerical duties and manage Executive Producer calendars.
  • Provide telephone coverage and research for scripts.
  • Complete script books, rundowns, schedules, and ROS day schedules.
  • Work on the live event on location in Pasadena, temporary Oct–Jan.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Will be the main hub for all pre-production, coordination, and post-production tasks.
  • Will assemble script books, and coordinate all needed information to staff, crew and talent.
  • Will manage files in OneDrive for Executive Producers, writers, and producers, including rundown, production schedules, script, etc.
  • Will book travel, meetings, and coordinate with producers and talent for call times, talking points for promotional appearances, etc.
  • Will assist the Executive Producers, writer, and talent during location scouts to float barns, create itineraries/maps, and act as the liaison between KTLA and commercial float builders.
  • Perform clerical duties to support the show and producers.
  • Manage calendar for Executive Producer.
  • Provide telephone coverage.
  • Research for script writers and format script for print.
  • Responsible for completing script books, rundowns, schedules and itineraries for ROS meetings, table reads and day of show.
  • Will work on the live event on location in Pasadena.
  • Position is temporary late October or November to first week of January.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in film, communications, marketing, management, or related field
  • Must have experience in live television, scripted or related field
  • Must be extremely proficient in administrative tasks and on a PC - Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and OneDrive are must.
  • Knowledge of live show rundowns and scripts including formatting imperative.
  • Ability to multitask with excellent attention to detail and handle a lot on their plate all at once
  • Internship experience at television stations or production companies are an asset
  • Previous experience as a production coordinator or APOC a must.
  • Familiarity with all aspects of live event production to facilitate effective communication
  • Superb organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks in a fast-moving environment
  • Capable of meeting deadlines and working with daily time constraints
  • Talent for anticipating needs
  • Professional judgment for handling confidential information
  • Excellent written and verbal communications; professional telephone etiquette

Availability: Immediately

Compensation: $25/hr.+ - commensurate with experience and skill level
