UniFirst Corp. is seeking an Assistant Production Manager in North Carolina to lead a diverse team, manage schedules, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced facility.

You will partner with the Production Manager to optimize processes, ensure safety, and deliver value to customers and internal stakeholders. The role emphasizes leadership, process optimization, and cost-conscious decision making, with cross-department collaboration to align production goals with business objectives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years of leadership experience.
• Ability to perform physical tasks (lifting, standing, walking).
• Willingness to travel occasionally (less than 25%).
• Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of production management experience.
• Financial literacy to analyze production costs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
• Familiarity with ISO standards and Lean Six Sigma.
• Commitment to safety and compliance initiatives.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Optimize processes with Production Manager to drive continuous improvement.
• Achieve production targets while maintaining quality and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Support and inspire team members to foster collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
• Foster a service-oriented culture delivering value to stakeholders.
• Ensure safety compliance through inspections and training.
• Oversee wastewater processes to optimize efficiency and minimize environmental impact.
• Manage inventory, vendor relationships, and equipment maintenance.
• Develop and implement production schedules driving operational improvements.
• Collaborate across Service, Sales, Maintenance, and Office to align goals.
• Exhibit strategic agility to adapt to change and drive long-term success.
• Support hiring, onboarding, retention, and offboarding with Production Manager.
