Job summary

UniFirst in South Carolina is seeking an Assistant Production Manager to lead team training, uphold safety, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced facility. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will help guide a dynamic and diverse team while fostering collaboration and inclusiveness.

You will collaborate with multiple departments to optimize processes, manage schedules and inventory, and promote a cost-efficient, high-performing culture in our production environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age and a valid driver’s license.
• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2+ years of leadership experience in production.
• Ability to perform physical tasks (lifting, standing, walking).
• Occasional travel (<25%).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead team training and coaching to meet production targets.
• Partner with Production Manager on continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure safety compliance through regular inspections and training.
• Oversee production scheduling, inventory management, and vendor relations.
• Collaborate across Service, Sales, Maintenance and Office to align goals.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive process efficiency.
• Support development and implementation of production schedules.
