Job summary

UniFirst is seeking an Assistant Production Manager in Charleston to lead team training, uphold facility standards, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will optimize processes, hit production targets, ensure safety, manage inventories and cross‑department collaboration while fostering an inclusive, high‑performing team. A Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of production management experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• : Age 21+ and valid driver’s license.
• High School diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years in production management preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of leadership experience with strong team-building and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift, stand, walk for extended periods; occasional travel <25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead training and development for production team.
• Optimize production processes in partnership with Production Manager.
• Achieve production targets while preserving quality and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing work environment.
• Uphold safety compliance through regular inspections and training.
• Oversee inventory, vendor relationships, and equipment maintenance.
• Develop and implement production schedules; drive operational improvements.
• Collaborate across Service, Sales, Maintenance and Office to align goals.
