Weis Markets, Inc. is looking for an Assistant Department Manager to support Produce operations at our Waldorf, MD store. You will help with merchandising, pricing, and daily store functions to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and product quality.

The role involves supervising associates, training staff, and coordinating with the Produce Manager to meet financial goals. Competitive hourly pay and full benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in management in retail/restaurant/supermarket environment.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in business or food service is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Promotes excellent customer relations by instilling positive customer focus behavior with associates.
• Smiles and greets customers, answers customer questions and helps resolve customer issues promptly in a polite and professional manner.
• Assists Produce Manager in day-to-day functions of Produce operations such as merchandising, ad execution, associate engagement and customer service.
• Oversees department inventories by tracking weekly sales reports, product orders and supplies to ensure successful period-end physical inventory.
• Maintains backroom organization and product storage within company guidelines.
• Maintains freshness by properly removing and recording out of code products.
