Job summary

Nexus Family Healing seeks an Assistant Principal for the Safe Harbor School in Manteno, IL. The role supports the Principal in managing the education program and staff to sustain a therapeutic learning environment.

The position offers a full-time schedule, year-round calendar, and a salary range of $80,000–$90,000 with credentials and experience determining placement. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s in education, Type 75 licensure, and supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education with Type 75 licensure required; master’s degree strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years teaching experience; 1+ year supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills; ability to lead staff and coordinate curricula.

Responsibilities

• Develop & Maintain the Academic Program: curriculum development, accreditation compliance, IEP process support, and coordination with home school districts.
• Teaching Assistant & Behavioral Specialist Leadership & Oversight: lead staff, conduct evaluations, provide feedback, and monitor performance.
• Academic Programming Support: maintain school documentation, schedule IEP meetings, engage families, and manage the master schedule.
