Nexus Family Healing is hiring an Assistant Principal for the Grand Prairie School at our Onarga, IL location. Assist the Principal in managing the education program and staff to maintain a high-quality, therapeutic learning environment.

GPS serves grades 5-12 with a tailored curriculum and NCACSA accreditation. This full-time role offers extensive benefits, a focus on collaboration and student success, and advancement opportunities within Nexus Family Healing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education required and Type 75 licensure.
• Minimum of 5 years teaching experience.
• Minimum 1 year supervisory experience preferred.
• First Aid/CPR/Infection Control/Blood Bourne Pathogen/TCI certification required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass IL DCFS background check.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the academic program in collaboration with the School Principal.
• Lead and develop teaching assistants and behavior specialists; conduct performance feedback.
• Schedule and participate in IEP meetings; coordinate with home school districts.
• Ensure safety, compliance, and therapeutic environment within the school.
• Oversee scheduling, staff meetings, and curriculum development in absence of Principal.
