Job summary

KIPP Texas Public Schools seeks an Assistant Principal of Student Support to lead multilingual program delivery and MTSS coordination across campuses. This role focuses on ensuring emergent bilingual students achieve academic and language growth in a joyful, inclusive environment.

The APSS will coach teachers, oversee TELPAS and language testing, and partner with leaders to align curriculum and interventions for diverse learners. Strong bilingual expertise is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (required).
• Texas Bilingual Teacher Certification (required for primary).
• Texas ELAR and ESL Teacher Certification (required for secondary).
• 2 years of teaching experience (required).
• 1 year teacher leader experience with a track record of results (required).
• Experience working in education with historically underserved communities (preferred).
• Previous school-level leadership experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Drive multilingual program model implementation with fidelity.
• Coach program teachers on language instruction strategies with real-time coaching cycles.
• Design and deliver professional development on content-based language instruction.
• Lead curriculum internalization to meet needs of bilingual learners.
• Integrate language development within MTSS and Tier 1 instruction.
• Provide small group language interventions for beginners/newcomers.
• Embed language development supports within MTSS across tiers.
• Coordinate TELPAS coordination and language testing with LPAC.
• Monitor language development progress and implement data-driven interventions.
• Engage families and lead events for emergent bilingual students.
• Support School Leadership Team and align vision and operations.
