Job summary

KIPP Texas Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Principal of Student Support to lead multilingual education strategies across MTSS, ensuring high-level outcomes for emergent bilingual students. You will coach teachers, coordinate TELPAS and language assessments, and align language development with core instruction to foster a joyful, inclusive school culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (required).
• Primary - Texas Bilingual Teacher Certification (required).
• Secondary - Texas ELAR and ESL Teacher Certification (required).
• 2 years of teaching experience (required).
• 1 year teacher leader experience with a record of results managing and coaching teachers and/or teacher leaders to improved academic and culture outcomes for students (required).
• Experience working in education partnering with historically underserved communities and communities of color (preferred).
• Previous school-level leadership experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Model Implementation: Drive the rigorous implementation of KIPP Texas multilingual program models, ensuring fidelity to program structures and language allocation.
• Strategy Supervision: Coach program teachers on language instructional strategies with real-time feedback and coaching cycles.
• Content-Based Language Instruction: Design and deliver PD on content-based language instruction for emergent bilingual students.
• Curriculum Internalization: Lead standards-aligned curriculum adaptation for diverse bilingual learners.
• MTSS: Design MTSS supports across Tier 1-3 and align with language development.
• Provide small group language interventions for beginner/newcomer students.
• Embed language development in Tier 1 instruction and MTSS planning.
