Job summary

Denver Public Schools (DPS) is seeking an Assistant Principal to support the principal in managing school operations and improving instructional quality. The role involves leading staff, shaping curriculum, and collaborating with families and community partners to advance student achievement.

The position emphasizes equity, accountability, and collaboration, with a focus on creating a positive learning environment and ensuring compliance with district policies and budgetary constraints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field is required.
• Master’s degree with leadership experience preferred.
• Active Colorado Principal License is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead a staff of administrative, certificated and classified personnel assigned to the school, as directed.
• Determine if students' educational needs are being met and develop plans to improve instruction and achievement.
• Keep the Principal informed and develop curriculum and events for effective instructional organization.
• Work with parents and community partners to develop a School Improvement Plan with achievable goals.
• Monitor and implement student conduct guidelines and support student activities and recognition.
