Job summary

Denver Public Schools is seeking an assistant principal to support the principal in managing school operations, overseeing academics, discipline and staff, and ensuring a positive learning environment.

The role leads administrative and certificated staff, develops plans to improve instruction and student achievement, and collaborates with families and community partners to implement the School Improvement Plan and ensure effective budget and resource use.

Qualifications

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in education or in the subject areas for which you are applying.
  • Master’s Degree and Leadership Experience Preferred.
  • Hold a valid Colorado Department of Education Principal License (Must be current and active).
  • 2+ years of school leadership experience.
  • Commitment to equity and engaging with the community.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a staff of administrative, certificated and classified personnel assigned to the school.
  • Develop plans to improve instruction and foster student achievement.
  • Keep the Principal informed and support curriculum and events.
  • Collaborate with parents, agencies, and community groups to develop a SIP.
  • Oversee student conduct and promote positive school culture.
  • Plan and administer the school budget and resources.
  • Implement school policy and maintain scheduling and facility use.
