Job summary

enCircle is seeking an Assistant Principal to partner with the Principal in delivering high‑quality instructional, behavioral, and operational leadership. You will drive daily supervision, coaching, and accountability of staff while ensuring safe, compliant, and effective school operations.

The role emphasizes collaboration with leadership and support teams, implementation of expectations, and ongoing improvement to promote positive student outcomes. Driving is a required element of the position.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education or related field preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in education, special education, educational leadership, administration, or related field required.
• Experience with students with disabilities and students with significant behavioral needs required.
• School-based or special education setting experience required.
• Virginia teaching license preferred.
• Leadership experience, staff supervision, or program coordination preferred.
• Valid VA Driver’s License and proof of insurance required.
• Driving record must meet policy standards.
• Crisis de-escalation, First Aid, and CPR certification participation may be required.
• Mon-Fri, 8:00AM–4:00PM schedule.

Responsibilities

• Conduct classroom walkthroughs and observations with timely feedback to staff.
• Participate in data reviews with Principal and leadership teams.
• Supervise assigned staff and uphold performance and conduct expectations.
• Onboard staff and coach, observe evaluations, and support improvements.
• Identify staff development needs and support training implementation.
• Provide leadership during behavioral crises and emergencies per policy.
• Support compliance with educational regulations and accreditation standards.
• Foster positive relationships with LEAs, families, and partners.
• Fulfill all other duties as assigned.
