Job summary

Beecher School District is seeking a qualified high school administrator with a Master’s degree in secondary school administration and a valid state administrator certificate. The candidate should have a minimum of two years of successful experience as a secondary classroom instructor and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.

The role involves implementing master contracts, human resources duties, handbook preparation, staff evaluation, and attendance/discipline oversight.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Understands and implements the terms of the Master contracts.

  • Assists in preparing teacher handbooks and student handbook.
  • Assists in staff evaluation.
  • Attends school-sponsored activities.
  • Supervise records related to discipline and attendance and enforce policies.
  • Assist the principal in administration of the school and serve as acting principal when absent.
  • Assist in fire/tornado drills and crisis planning.
  • Develop and implement student conduct codes and due process records.
  • Coordinate eligibility for athletics and oversee crowd control and gate staff for events.
  • Stay informed on professional developments through meetings and publications.

Job description

Minimum Qualifications


  • Master's Degree from an accredited institution with a major concentration in secondary school administration.

  • A valid state certificate to serve as a secondary school administrator.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of successful experience as a secondary classroom instructor.

  • Must possess good written and oral communication skills and possess the ability to interact positively with a broad spectrum of individuals and organizations.


PERFORMANCE DUTIES AND RESPONSIILITIES (summary includes but is not limited to the following):


  • Understands and implements the terms of the Master contracts.

  • Interprets and implements Board of Education policies and administrative rules and regulations relating to the Beecher Community School District.

  • Assists in the preparations of teacher's handbooks and the preparation of the student handbook.

  • Assists in the evaluation of staff personnel.

  • Attends school sponsored activities.

  • Supervise the preparation and use of records and data related to the discipline and attendance of each student. Implement plans for the enforcement of attendance policies and procedures including the boundary exceptions.

  • Assists the principal in the administration of the school and serves as principal when the principal is absent.

  • Assists in the plans and supervision of fire drills and tornado drills as an emergency program for the school building.

  • Assists in formulation and implementation of a plan in the event of crisis situations.

  • Identifies, coordinates and provides leadership in the establishment of a student conduct code and procedure. Keeps records of any disciplinary action according to due process to the right of the students.

  • Determine eligibility of students for state and local athletics, provide crowd control procedures, box office and gate workers for high school athletic events.

  • Assumes responsibility to be informed of changes and developments in the profession by attending professional meetings, reading professional publications, and discussing problems and developments of mutual interest with others in the field, and with university personnel. The Principal will attend the County Principal Meetings and other appropriate local, state and national conferences.

  • Serves with community, school personnel, and student groups as requested by Principal of High School in advancing educational objectives.

  • Performs such other tasks and assumes responsibilities as the Principal of the High School may from time to time assign.

  • The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment within the District.

Annual Salary

$70,000 - $80,000. Exceptional administrative fringe benefits available.
