Job summary

Illinois Education Job Bank is seeking an instructional leader to oversee teaching assistants, behavior specialists, and academic programming within a residential educational setting.

You will collaborate with the Principal to coordinate curriculum, monitor IEP processes, and ensure compliance with licensing and safety standards. The role emphasizes team development, performance management, and effective communication with families and districts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education with Type 75 licensure required; master's degree strongly preferred.
• 5 years teaching experience minimum; supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license required; must pass IL DCFS background check.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach teaching assistants and behavior specialists; set clear performance expectations and provide feedback.
• Monitor staff performance and conduct formal evaluations with HR involvement.
• Participate in interview and selection for faculty and staff; conduct reference checks.
• Act as back-up to Principal; assist with curriculum assessment and development.
• Ensure scheduling, IEP meetings, and compliance with educational policies and confidentiality.
