Job summary

The Nashua School District is seeking an Assistant Principal for Pennichuck Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year. This 199-day position offers a starting salary in the negotiated range with benefits under the Nashua Association of School Principals CBA.

Responsibilities include acting as principal in the principal's absence, improving instructional programs, supervising staff, and assisting in personnel decisions and student scheduling.

Qualifications

• NH principal certification or eligibility.
• Master's degree in Administration or Leadership.
• Three years minimum as an educator; five years with admin/supervisory and teacher-leader experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as acting principal during the absence of the Principal and assist in improving the instructional program.
• Assist in selection of personnel and supervise teachers, paraprofessionals, and school nurse.
• Observe and evaluate staff; supervise substitutes and student teachers; manage attendance and discipline.
• Assist in preparation of pupil schedules and assignments; participate in Special Education placement decisions when Principal is absent.
• Performs duties as assigned by the Principal and supports district policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must be NH certified or eligible as a Principal. The certification requires aMasters degree in Administration or Leadership and three successful years as an educator. The preferred candidate with have five years educational experience, including significant administrative/supervisory and teaching and learning experiences.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Assistant Principal Responsibilities:

Serve as acting principal during the absence of the Principal; assist the Principal with the improvement of the instructional program and inherent supervisory duties; assist in selection of personnel; observes and together with principal, evaluates teachers, paraprofessionals and school nurse; supervise substitutes and student teachers; assume primary responsibility for student attendance and discipline; assist in the preparation of pupil schedules and assignments: serve on the Special Education placement team in the absence of the Principal; Perform such duties as the Principal may assign.
