Job summary

RRD, located in Durham, North Carolina, is seeking an Assistant Press Operator who will assist Press Operators with the operation and maintenance of sheet-fed or web offset printing presses. Responsibilities include adjusting machine parts, cleaning rollers, and ensuring quality specifications before production.

The ideal candidate should have a High School Diploma or GED and at least 2 years of general knowledge of offset presswork. The position offers a pay range of $21.00-30.15 per hour and various benefits including medical and dental coverage.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and follow job specifications to determine press set-up materials needed.
• Skill to operate equipment safely and produce the desired product.
• Ability to use a micrometer to mount and align the printing plate correctly.
• Ability to make adjustments to feeder and feed board.
• Skill in performing routine maintenance and minor repairs.
• Requires minimum 2 years of general knowledge of offset presswork procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist Press Operators with press make ready and operation.
• Inserting packing sheets and adjusting press machine parts.
• Cleaning ink-distributing rollers and ink fountains.
• Making necessary color or register corrections prior to production run.
