Job summary

Centerline Logistics is seeking a skilled Vessel Maintenance Coordinator in Seattle to support scheduling, inspections, and repairs for tugs and barges. You will collaborate with Port Engineers and purchasing to ensure timely parts and services, while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

The role requires on-site work, strong records management, and the ability to respond to emergencies. A maritime background and relevant licenses are highly valued, with opportunities to contribute

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of sailing experience on tugs, tankers, oil barges or equivalent.
• Two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience in the maritime industry preferred.
• US Coast Guard Engineering license strongly preferred.
• Ability to board vessels in all weather conditions and environments.
• Valid State driver’s license and TWIC or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Schedule maintenance of tugs and barges based on communications with Port Engineer.
• Communicate with Port Engineer to establish priorities and availability of personnel, equipment, and resources.
• Keep records of maintenance performed and ensure vessels are properly recording maintenance.
• Work with Port Engineer on part procurement and services for repair and maintenance projects.
• Perform inspections of vessels for repair and maintenance standards and regulatory compliance.
• Assist Port Engineer to compile and prioritize worklists for each vessel for routine and major maintenance (dry dock periods).
• Communicate clearly with Port Engineer on all work being performed and notify immediately if issues arise that may affect vessel operations.
• Work with Port Engineers on special projects to improve workflows and engineering processes.
• Manage oil analysis program.
• Perform emergency repairs on vessels as required.
• Perform related duties as assigned by Port Engineer.
