Job summary

Procon seeks an experienced Assistant Project Manager to support the DC Department of General Services and DC Public Schools capital construction program in Washington, DC. The selected candidate will serve as the Owner’s Representative, managing school modernization, renovation, and facility upgrades across the full project lifecycle.

Ideal candidates will have 2+ years of related experience, knowledge of project controls and scheduling software, and strong communication and organizational

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting construction, engineering, facilities, or capital improvement projects.
• Knowledge of construction processes, project delivery methods, and project controls.
• Familiarity with construction documents, change orders, submittals, RFIs, and project closeout procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers with successful delivery of DCPS modernization and capital improvement projects.
• Assist with planning, procurement, design, construction, closeout, and turnover.
• Support scope development, RFP preparation, contractor procurement, and consultant coordination.
• Track schedules, budgets, milestones, risks, and deliverables.
• Participate in design reviews, progress meetings, site visits, and stakeholder coordination.
