Job summary

AlphaX in Richmond, VA seeks an Assistant Project Manager to support commercial construction projects and renovations. You will help with documentation, scheduling, and coordination with subcontractors, design teams, and the Project Manager to keep projects moving forward.

You will gain ownership of project documentation, participate in meetings, and assist with cost tracking and closeout activities as you progress toward full project management responsibility in a GC environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in commercial construction, project coordination, or a related role.
• Experience with General Contractor environments on commercial projects.
• Strong understanding of drawings, RFIs, submittals, schedules and project docs.
• Ability to coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers and clients.
• Proficiency with MS Office and construction PM/scheduling/document-control software.
• Excellent organizational and follow-through skills for multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers through all phases of commercial construction projects.
• Track RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders and project docs.
• Assist with subcontractor scope review, scheduling, procurement and follow-up.
• Review drawings to identify scope conflicts, missing info, and issues.
• Maintain project schedules and escalate delays to the PM.
• Attend owner, architect, subcontractor and project meetings and document actions.
• Assist with cost tracking, commitments, change orders, invoices, and finances.
• Conduct job-site visits to verify progress and document conditions.
• Support punch lists, closeout, warranty, and turnover activities.
