Job summary

GCP in Chicago, IL, seeks an Assistant Plant Manager to oversee personnel, equipment, and the safe, efficient operation of a unionized facility. You will lead operational excellence initiatives, 5S events, and cross-training while advancing customer service improvements.

Responsibilities include coordinating 2nd shift oversight, implementing process improvements for microfiber and top cast product lines, and partnering with cross-functional teams to boost efficiency and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level of experience.
• Experience in a fast paced union manufacturing environment.
• Basic math aptitude and attention to detail.
• Proficient with MS Outlook, Excel, Word and internet.
• Good command of English.
• Availability Mon-Fri 10AM-7PM and to provide vacation coverage.

Responsibilities

• Oversee personnel, equipment, and safe, efficient operation of the Chicago facility.
• Lead operational excellence initiatives and process improvements for efficiency, quality, and sustainability.
• Develop workforce capabilities with 5S events and cross-training across the factory.
• Provide leadership for 2nd Shift to ensure a safe, productive environment.
• Drive customer service improvements and cross-functional collaboration.
