Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Plant Manager for our automotive manufacturing plant in Michigan.

This role focuses on continuous improvement of production performance and customer satisfaction, with accountability for staffing, training, and operational plans to meet budgets and schedules. You will lead the Operations team, drive quality and cost control through standardization, and work closely with the Plant Controller on budgets and labor forecasting.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in a production leadership role in automotive manufacturing.
• IATF 16949 knowledge and experience.
• Strong MS Office proficiency.
• Ability to analyze complex data and present findings clearly.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with quality systems, lean management.
• Experience in welding and automated assembly strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Improve production key metrics and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure staffing and training to execute production plans.
• Supervise operations and staff within budget and schedule.
• Oversee hiring and training of technical production employees.
• Drive process standardization to improve quality and reduce costs.
• Assist in budget development and cost control with Plant Controller.
• Support safety and CI programs in manufacturing.
