Executive search firm CMC Partners is hiring for a hands-on Assistant Mine Manager / Maintenance Foreman role at an Alabama sand and gravel surface mine for its client, a fast-growing, family-founded construction materials business and one of the largest producers in the U.S., with work spanning ready-mix concrete, aggregates, asphalt and cement, which is now building out its aggregates business. The site sells about 500,000 tons a year: bank material is dug, truck-loaded and fed into the plant, with sand classifiers on site. The role keeps the plant running through routine inspections, a scheduled preventative maintenance program, troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical and plumbing issues, welding to fabricate or reinforce plant structures and equipment, detailed maintenance records and coordination with outside contractors, while supporting the site safety team. The client asks for proven maintenance and operations experience in a mining, industrial or manufacturing environment (quarry experience is highly desirable), electrical, plumbing and welding skills, and a high school diploma or equivalent. The offer includes overtime, annual raises and bonus eligibility, low-cost medical, dental and vision, disability and life insurance, paid holidays and PTO, a 401(k) with company match, and real potential for short-term career progression at the site.
