Job summary

CMC Partners is seeking an hands-on Assistant Mine Manager / Maintenance Foreman for an Alabama sand and gravel mine. The role focuses on keeping the plant running through routine maintenance, repairs, and upgrades, with potential for short-term progression at the site.

The ideal candidate has proven maintenance and operations experience in mining or industrial settings, strong electrical/plumbing/welding skills, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Mining/industrial/manufacturing experience required.
• Electrical, plumbing and welding skills are essential.
• Strong safety knowledge and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Inspect plant equipment and systems for wear, malfunctions or risks to production.
• Deliver a scheduled preventative maintenance programme to reduce breakdowns.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical and plumbing issues quickly with minimal downtime.
• Weld to fabricate, repair or reinforce plant structures and equipment.
• Coordinate maintenance priorities with site management by urgency and impact.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance work, parts used and time spent.
• Stay current on maintenance techniques and safety protocols.
• Coordinate with external contractors for complex repairs or installations.
• Support site safety team by identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions.
