Job summary

566 Department of Tourism and Recreation is seeking an Assistant Park Manager for Fort Cobb State Park. The role involves directing and coordinating park operations under the supervision of a Park Manager to ensure safe, well-maintained facilities and strong visitor services.

Responsibilities include budget oversight, community relations, environmental education, and staff supervision. A related bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required; driver’s license is also needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Public Administration, Park Administration or Management, Natural Resource Management or a closely related field; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting one (1) year of experience in Park Management or Operations for ninety (90) semester hours of education.

Responsibilities

• Assures a safe, well-maintained park facility through the efforts of a supervised staff.
• Provides an efficient operation that stays within budget constraints with fiscal control.
• Provides park visitor service and promotes usage through community relations and partnerships.
• Assumes natural resource protection and environmental education as a manager of park operations and visitor programming.
• Analyzes financial information and operating requirements to plan and manage the park’s budget.
• Maintains knowledge of laws and regulations concerning state parks, contracts, purchases, and property management.
• Utilizes basic computer applications including Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel and SharePoint for printing, scanning and filing.
• Performs other duties to support daily operations and agency needs.

Education
