Job description

Primary Purpose of Position

Assistant or associate professor with a Ph.D. in psychology or a related field, preferably Neuropsychology, to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, develop curriculum, advise students, and conduct research within the Department of Psychology at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.

Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate courses in psychology and graduate courses for the MS in Health Psychology and Ph.D. in Applied Psychology.
  • Provide student-centered teaching and incorporate modern pedagogical skills.
  • Advising, mentoring, and supervising student research projects.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and program assessment.
  • Maintain a strong, externally funded research program focused on one or more of the following areas: substance use disorders, memory and cognition, applied psychology, or health psychology.
  • Publish scholarly work in high-impact venues.
  • Engage in service to the department, college, university, and community organizations.
  • Serve as a 9‑month, tenure‑track faculty member.
Eligibility Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Psychology or a related discipline (e.g., Neuropsychology).
  • Significant research track record with demonstrated ability to establish and sustain an externally funded research enterprise.
  • Pedagogical skills to teach courses relevant to the discipline.
  • Commitment to student success, inclusiveness, and alignment with the university’s strategic goals.
