Job summary

Mohawk Industries is seeking an Assistant Operator to monitor the Energy Plant, Refining, and Press areas for unusual noises, leaks, or equipment issues, while keeping work areas clean and organized. This role supports the Press Operator and maintenance teams to keep production running smoothly.

You should be reliable, able to follow procedures, and capable of working as part of a safety-conscious manufacturing team in our Mount Gilead facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Reads and writes in English and performs basic math.
• Successful completion of all required on the job training.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitors the continuous production of product through the air graders, forming line and press.
• Monitors raw board quality.
• Communicates with operators to maintain stable and consistent production.
• Monitors furnace, thermal oil pumps, resin pumps and lines, steam generator and refiner by making periodic rounds.
• Identifies process variation.
• Assists in executing plant shut downs.
• Obtains resin samples from delivery trucks.
• Performs basic maintenance related tasks.
• Performs housekeeping activities.
• Assists maintenance personnel in performing technical work.
• Performs other related duties as required.
